Four types of songs sung within the Blackfoot tribe included game, celebration and ceremonial songs.  This sculpture represents the fourth type or personal song, which belonged to the individual and was sung only by him.  Naked before the world he cries to the Great Spirit: “Hear my words, hear my prayer, hear my plea.”
