Fanning a Twister-Steamboat

$3,500.00Price
  • Perhaps the most famous rodeo horse of all time, Steamboat was known as the horse "who couldn't be rode."   A powerful mix of a hot blooded Mexican mare and a Percheron stallion, he proved to be unconquerable.  When he was castrated he raged so powerfully, he hit his head on the ground and broke a bone in his nose.  From then on he breathed with a whistling sound and was given the name Steamboat by cowboy Jimmy Danks.   The model for the University of Wyoming Cowboy logo as well as the Wyoming license plate, the legendary Steamboat was also the model for Fillerup's monumental statue located at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.
